Welcome to 9lives! Our mission is to create a global community where productivity, creativity, and collaboration flourish. These Community Guidelines are designed to ensure that 9lives remains a safe, respectful, and inspiring space for everyone. By using our App, you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Use.

We believe in free expression, but we are committed to balancing this with the need for a secure and positive environment. These guidelines outline the rules of the road for our platform. Violations can lead to content removal, account suspension, or a permanent ban.

The Core Principles

Be Respectful: Treat others as you would want to be treated. We are a diverse community of individuals with different backgrounds and perspectives. Healthy debate is encouraged, but harassment, bullying, and hate speech are not tolerated.
Promote Safety: Do not share content that encourages violence, self-harm, or illegal activities. The safety of our users is our top priority.
Share Authentically: We value genuine interaction. Do not engage in spam, impersonation, or deceptive practices.
Respect Privacy: Do not share private or confidential information about others without their explicit consent.

Prohibited Content and Behaviors

To protect our community, we strictly prohibit the following types of content and behavior. This is not an exhaustive list, and we reserve the right to remove any content we deem to be in violation of the spirit of these guidelines.

Safety and Well-being

Hate Speech: You may not post content that promotes violence, discrimination, or disparages on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, serious disease, disability, or immigration status.

Harassment and Bullying: We prohibit targeted harassment, which includes, but is not limited to, abusive comments, threats of harm, doxxing (sharing private information), and encouraging others to harass an individual or group.

Violence and Incitement: You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence. Content that depicts gratuitous violence, gore, or sadistic behavior is not allowed.

Self-Harm and Suicide: We do not permit content that encourages or provides instructions for suicide or self-harm. We may remove content that, when viewed in context, could be interpreted as encouraging such acts. If you see something that suggests someone is at risk, please report it to us and contact local emergency services.

Child Safety: We have a zero-tolerance policy for content that sexually exploits or endangers children. This includes Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We will report any such content to law enforcement authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Authenticity and Integrity

Spam and Scams: You may not use our services to engage in spamming, phishing, or other deceptive practices. This includes creating misleading accounts, posting repetitive content, or artificially inflating engagement.

Impersonation: You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations in a manner that is intended to or does mislead, confuse, or deceive others. Impersonation is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to reserve certain usernames for public figures to prevent impersonation.

Misinformation and Disinformation: You may not share content that is verifiably false and is likely to cause public harm. This includes manipulated media (deep fakes) and content that undermines civic processes or public health.

Adult Content and Illegal Goods

Adult Nudity and Sexual Content: We do not allow pornographic content or content that is sexually explicit. We may make exceptions for content that is educational, artistic, or newsworthy, but this is at our sole discretion.

Illegal Activities and Regulated Goods: You may not use our platform to facilitate or promote illegal activities, such as the sale of illegal drugs, firearms, or other controlled substances.

Intellectual Property

Copyright and Trademark: You may not post content that violates someone else's intellectual property rights. This includes copyrighted material (like videos, music, and text) and trademarks. Please see our Copyright Policy for more information on how to report infringement.

Enforcement and Consequences

We use a combination of user reports and automated systems to identify and review content that may violate our guidelines. Our enforcement actions are designed to be proportionate to the severity of the violation.

Reporting Violations

If you see content that you believe violates our guidelines, please report it to us using the in-app reporting tools. You can report posts, comments, messages, and user profiles. Our team reviews these reports 24/7.

Our Review Process

We have a tiered approach to reviewing reported content to ensure we address the most critical issues first:

Verification and Account Status

9lives offers a verification status to users who demonstrate active and meaningful participation on the platform. This status is not an endorsement of public identity or a guarantee of authenticity for public figures.

To achieve Verified Status, a user must:

Have made at least 5 public posts.
Have followed at least 10 other users.
Have made at least 5 meaningful comments.
Have successfully invited 3 friends to the platform.

Consequences of Violations

Based on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take the following actions:

Warning: For minor, first-time offenses, we may issue a warning.
Content Removal: We will remove any content that violates our guidelines.
Temporary Suspension: For more serious or repeated violations, we may temporarily suspend your account for a period of 7 to 30 days. During this time, you may not be able to post, comment, or message.
Permanent Ban: For critical violations (such as CSAM, promoting terrorism, or serious harassment) or repeated offenses, we will permanently ban your account.

Appeals

If you believe we have made a mistake in taking enforcement action on your account or content, you may have the right to appeal. You can submit an appeal by contacting our support team at support@9livesapp.com. We will review your appeal and notify you of our decision.

The digital world is constantly evolving, and so are these guidelines. We will update this document as needed to address new challenges and ensure our community remains a safe and productive space. We will notify you of any significant changes.
